The Bonnie Schneider STS Fund: This fund has been established through R.O.C.C.S. in loving memory of Bonnie Sue Schneider by her family and friends. Ovarian cancer has a higher survival rate when diagnosed in its earliest stages. Unfortunately Bonnie was one of the many women, whose disease failed to be diagnosed in a timely fashion. Based on the premise that increased knowledge and awareness by gynecological caregivers of the symptomatic subtleties surrounding this deadly disease, this fund will be used strictly for the Survivors Teaching Students: Saving Women's Lives program (STS). The STS program is a grassroots effort to provide third year medical students during their gynecological rotation with real-life insights into ovarian cancer as described directly to them by women who have personally been touched by the disease. Donations can be sent directly to R.O.C.C.S.
Guidelines:
The Fund is intended to support R.O.C.C.S. participation in the STS program by increasing awareness about diagnostic medical subtleties of ovarian cancer to third year medical students during their gynecologic rotation
The Fund is intended to support R.O.C.C.S. participants who volunteer their time with the STS program
The Fund is intended to support the training of volunteers who are interested in participating in the STS program
The fund is to be administered and managed through R.O.C.C.S.
There are to be no administrative or operational expenses associated with this fund
Donations are to be tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law
